What is GTM Helper?
GTM Helper is a Chrome browser extension that helps marketers and analysts quickly mark elements on a page and create corresponding events and tags in Google Tag Manager.
Features
- Select element on page — turn on the mode and hover over an element; it will highlight.
- Sign in to GTM — connect your Google Tag Manager account for sync.
- Create click events — create events (e.g. GA4 Event) directly from the selected element.
- Workspace — choose account, container, and workspace and work with tags directly.
How to use
- Install the GTM Helper extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Click “Sign in to GTM” and sign in with your Google account.
- Select your GTM account, container, and workspace.
- Turn on “Select Element” and hover over the element you want on the page.
- Create the event in GTM (e.g. button click) via the “Create in GTM” dialog.
