What We Check
Tags without firing triggers
Tags that have no trigger attached will never fire. These are dead weight in your container and should be connected or removed.
Orphan triggers
Triggers not referenced by any tag serve no purpose. They add clutter and make the container harder to maintain.
Paused tags
Tags explicitly paused in GTM. These may be intentional, but long-paused tags should be reviewed or removed.
Missing notes/descriptions
Tags without notes make it hard for team members to understand their purpose. Good documentation is key to container maintainability.
Naming conventions
Consistent prefixes (e.g., "GA4 -", "Meta -", "CU -") make large containers manageable. We detect inconsistent naming patterns.
Duplicate tag names
Multiple tags with the same name cause confusion during debugging and analytics review.
Unused variables
Variables not referenced in any tag or trigger configuration add complexity without value.
